Plans are underway in Brazil to increase the numbers of small hydro-electric dams, otherwise known as PCHs to 229 with a view to generating more green electricity and assisting in their economic development.
There are currently 346 PCHs at present in the country with a further 70 currently under construction and an additional 159 waiting licence [...]

A suspected illegal shipment of waste recently sent to Brazil by us has been returned today by the Brazilian government over claims it was exported illegally.
The cargo ship MSC Serena returned 71 of 89 containers to the port of Felixstowe, with the remainder to follow in due course.
